FOR DOG TRAINERS - Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior

Laurie Luck, KPA CTP, has joined the faculty of the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior. KPA teaches inspired animal training with innovative programs designed for both experienced and aspiring teachers. We advance the field of force-free training through community and peer collaboration, and we help our faculty and alumni become more successful through close business partnerships.

Laurie will be offering the KPA Dog Trainer Program in Columbia, MD, and will also be a traveling faculty member. She's scheduled to travel to Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia to teach the KPA Dog Trainer Program.

FOR DOG OWNERS - Group Courses

Smart Dog University offers convenience and flexibility in their new Canine Building Blocks program. Start anytime! Come to one of four locations. Work at your own pace. Our goal is to measurably improve the knowledge of the person and the behavior of the dog. Whether you have a pup, a dog, or a recent adoptee, we can help you and your dog.

We also have specialty courses for dogs who have completed the CBB program: Out + About, and Canine Good Citizen.

Check out SDU's latest offering: Nose Works. No obedience training necessary - this course utilizes your dog's powerful nose. Fun for both you and your dog!

Private In-Home Training

Smart Dog University works hands-on with dog owners who want a better behaved dog. This program is for people who want individual customized coaching or for those who have a specific goal for their dog and don’t need a comprehensive course. This option is especially attractive if you don’t have the time or inclination to travel and convenience is high on your priority list. More details.

Mini-Group In Home Training

Similar to In-Home Training, this program is for a small group who have specific goals and don't need a comprehensive course. Save money by teaming up with a friend! More details.

Day Training

Don't have the time, energy, or schedule that allows you to work with your dog? Day training might be the answer you've been looking for. Similar to private in-home training, day training is customized around your goals and needs. But you don't have to be home -- SDU will come to your house and train your dog for you while you're at work! We'll transfer those skills to you over a series of sessions, so you'll know how to ask your dog to behave.
